Yum Goods Home Page
Design brief from briefbox.me:
Yum Goods is an online shop that sells homeware and gifts such as prints, furniture, plants, pots, ceramics etc. They gather a wide selection of products handmade by artists all over the world, and their mission is to promote small artists and products that are eco-friendly, contributing to a sustainable and good looking lifestyle.
They are just starting out and want to appeal to the millennial market – think Pinterest and Instagrammable aesthetics, all combined in one place. They’re looking for a designer to give a fresh look to their website and branding, and to create a unique user experience.
To achieve this, they want a look that is progressive and minimalistic but with a retro touch. Something that matches their handmade vibe, but at the same time lets the products sing on the website.
Since their website will be their main selling point, they want to start with the homepage, and see how the brand evolves from there. Work quickly on a first suggestion for a logo, and then put most of your effort into creating a beautiful homepage. They’re looking for something that will ‘wow’ the user as soon as they land on the website, a design that will showcase the products and show the shop’s vibe straight away.

They need your help designing an app directory for all the classes that are being held over the next few months. Include information about the person hosting the class, what dishes they’ll be teaching and another screen for information on their home country.

Website design and brand exploration for a digital-only bank
Design brief from briefbox.me
Klaver is an up and coming German bank that wants to break the frontiers of online banking. Unlike the traditional, rigid old banks, this is the bank for millenials, for young entrepreneurs, for people who like to go beyond their comfort zone and try new things. Its goal is to go beyond borders, with a worldwide service that can handle almost any currency.
‘Klaver’ is the german word for clover – this is a bank that will bring you good luck in all of your endeavours. It’s a bank that works to help you invest your money in the right places, make smart decisions about your savings and achieve big milestones such as buying a house.
In the era of all things digital, this bank will be online only, with a user friendly app and website. They want to start by inviting a limited amount of people to sign up to their services and receive a unique cool looking bank card. This will give that sense of exclusivity and originality that is so valued nowadays.
For that, they are looking for a designer to create their website. They want the landing page to be a big call to action, an impactful design that will get people thinking ‘I want to be part of this’. They want a modern look, but also with a hint of well established, professional and trustworthy. They don’t want to look just like any other startup, and that’s why they want a design that can be both modern and mature.
They also don’t have a logo in place yet, because they want their website to dictate how everything looks, not the other way around. So you can explore an initial logo suggestion, focusing on how it can work alongside the impactful landing page.
The key to this brief is to think how you can combine contemporary with traditional, how you can make this design stand out from all the other banking websites out there – both long-established and startups. Work on a desktop and mobile version of the homepage, as well as a small brand style tile to show how the brand comes to life as more than just a simple logo.
